World Builder - Sketchup in 2045?

Written by on April 15, 2009

Google Sketchup is a great tool for building low-end 3D models. I have used it several times, one of them being when I modelled the house I wanted to build.

But what if you could combine the ease of use and the power of Sketchup with a holographic projector? What if you, as an architect, could build using natural user interfaces, manipulating the world directly. That would be awesome.

The technology is not quite ready yet, but take a look at this short film by Bruce Branit. It is absolutely stunning.

Update: See how this could be done using today's technology
