Web & Usability Posters 2008

January is always the month of cool posters - and this January is no exception. Here are 3 cool posters that have found their way to my inbox.

Web Trend Map 2008

The first one is the "Web Trend Map 2008", which "takes almost 300 of the most influential and successful websites and pins them down to the greater Tokyo-area train map":

BTW: I cannot figure out why they call it a "TREND" map. There is nothing trendy about it. It is a picture of what the web looked like in 2007 and even in 2006 (with a number of errors - e.g. Live.com is much bigger than MSN - and who cares about Zen Garden anymore?).

A trend is something that is likely to occur in the future. It is not a picture of the past, nor even the present - but what is to come. This is not a "trend" map - it's still cool, though.

Bad Usability Calendar 2008

The second poster is the excellent "Bad Usability Calendar 2008", which I know I am a little late to post about. It is a great poster and funny too - as always.

Design Police Stickers

The last "poster" is not really a poster, but a set of stickers that you can use to highlight bad design everywhere. The point is to print it on sticker paper, and attach the appropriate sticker when you see something that doesn't work.
