Cautious Cars - chapter one from Don Norman's coming book

Don Norman has posted "Chapter One" (Word Document) of his coming book "Cautious Cars and Cantankerous Kitchens: How Machines Take Control". He writes about how machines are starting to take over our lives, limiting our freedoms. And, illustrates that we need to approach usability and HCI very differently instead of designing them to be our slaves, we need to design them to be companions.

Excellent read - and I cannot wait for the final copy (I own every one of his books).
