The Christmas Magic Came to Town

Coca Cola is known for its wonderful Christmas commercials, especially the Coca Cola trucks that bring Christmas with them wherever they go... And today the magic came to my little part of the world .

Watch the TV commercials in case you don't know what I am talking about...

It is an amazing thing to see. Huge trucks decorated in Christmas colors, music, lights and Santa Claus walking around greeting everyone. It does really seem like the Christmas magic came to town.

10 Years of Magic

The campaign was originally created 10 years ago for Coca Cola in Germany - with an amazing effect. Since then, the 12 trucks have been touring the world creating between 200-500 magic Christmas events every year.

It is an amazing example of effective branding. Not only do they associate Christmas with Coca Cola, but they also make people happy. While I was taking these pictures, several parents proudly took their kids to see the trucks - often with the comment "Isn't that cool"

Magic by Night

The magic is something you should experience when it is dark. It is not that spectacular during the day. The trucks does look cool, but it doesn't feel that special.

Do yourself a favor and wait until it is dark.
