2 hours into the race...

We are now two hours into the race - and only 22 more to go. So far Peugeot is going pretty strong, but I absolutely loved it when Allan McNish, in the Audi, overtook the Peugeot's on the first lap. A nice way of saying "don't get too comfortable, we will be right behind you... "

There have also been lots of smaller problems and crashes; it has really been an eventful first two hours. The #83 Ferrari is out after it crashed in the Corvette curve, and is the first car to retire from the race. But the biggest event, for me, was when the Lola Aston Martin spun at Dunlop, and heavily damaged the car. I really wanted that car to do well.

To sum it up:

  • Great start, with the Audi poking its head in between the Peugeot's
  • The #25 RML was rear-ended and spun off
  • The #83 Ferrari crashes in the Corvette curve - and is out of the race
  • The #41 Zytek is having suspension problems
  • The #19 Lola had a punctured left front tire
  • The #55 Lamborghini had problem with its differential
  • The #22 Courage have engine problems
  • The #12 Lola and #41 Zytek made contact; the Lola came out loosing that particular event.
  • The #10 Lola Aston Martin went off at Dunlop - heavy damage.
