A number of people have requested data specifically for the most common screen sizes - 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x???.

800x600

At 800x600 almost everyone browse maximized.

You can target 90% of your visitors by designing for 768px (800px without the browser border and toolbars). It gets a little trickier if you want to design for higher percentages.

1024x768

At 1024x768 there isn't much difference.

1280x???

At 1280x??? we start to see the first real changes in browsing behavior. The majority still browses with the full width of the screen (60%), but there are also a lot of people who size their browser close to 1024px.
