Wouldn't you like to mix wild hand gestures, cute birds flying around your screen, Twitter, tweeting bird sounds, and your web camera? Well, now you can with Flyar.
It's an augmented reality app (for Windows) that lets you read tweets by moving little tweety birds by using nothing but hand gestures.
It is a fun little app, but I wouldn't want to read the 1,500 tweets the gets my way everyday this way. On the other hand, if I did, I would probably never need to exercise again.

That got to be the 'cutest' version of Minority Report that I have ever seen :)

Seems completely useless. It's a neat little tech demo though. It will be interesting to watch all of this AR stuff come into fruition over the next few years. I'm sure we'll see tons more of this kind of thing before we get anything that borders on anything actually useful.
They are using the term 'gestures' loosely. I only see arm flailing. but i guess "Arm Flailing Navigation" doesn't sound as impressive.
This undoubtedly uses soulwire's motion detection class.
Maybe not so useful for this purpose but the technology could be used for other specialized tasks. Gaming maybe. But that is already happening so I guess there's nothing new about it.

hehe it looks just like Minority Report, but filled with slightly more humdrum content!
