Modern Pillow Fight

Published: October 08, 2007 in design » cool by Thomas Baekdal

People often fight over the remote, but let's face it - it is much more fun to enjoy a good old pillow fight. Now you can do both!

And, I bet finding the remote is going to be a lot easier when they are as big as these.

Lovely concept! They will fit perfect in my home-cinema room ... oh wait, I don't have one, yet!

- Who is holding the volume pillow? Could you please increase the volume?

P.S. Yes, I am aware that they are not actual remote controls :)

They aren't actual remote controls? :(

I thought that was the whole point:

"Cushion Control

A new generation of remote controls: a bunch of different cushions each having its own function: one for the channels, one for the power, one for the volume and so on. These remote controls can be thrown around, transforming the fights over "who has the remote" into playful cushion fights."

Jakob and Iacovos,

I do not actually know if they actually work as remote controls. When I posted the article.

I think that they are remote controls - at least from a conceptional point of view. They are prsenting them at Droop Design exhibition that is about interaction and experience.

I would make much sense to bring normal pillows with some graphics to that event.

Judging by the rectangular shape under the applique, it's probably a good assumtion that they are actual remotes. The mechanics probably lies inside a small pocket on the inside of the cushion. This means you can take the cover off, the mechanics out of the pocket, and wash everything as normal.

Could also play april fools tricks by swapping the buttons over....

"why is the volume changing channels?!"

Good point! Looks like they are actually functional, (given the odd rectangular shape) It gave me the urge to set up a pillow-fighters dome!

Those would greatly suit my entertainment/gaming station btw ^_^

Everytime you lean back you'll turn the telly off, change volume or the channel. How can they actually as a cushion if that keeps happening?
