Last week, Citroën revealed their latest concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is the latest attempt at making a cool looking hybrid car, and they have certainly added a lot of design (maybe too much). The car itself is according to Citroën a revolution in design similar to the 2CV.
The car does look rather striking, but I got a little worried when they, in their press release, wrote:
Even with a hybrid drive system, Revolte is not about to give into boredom and indolence. Although we need not go into detail about its high top speed, this concept car is a lively performer with strong acceleration. Revolte respects the ecological constraints of urban driving in every way while also delivering an agile and spirited ride.
Isn't that marketing for... it's really very slow?
(via Citroën)

Certainly different but also interesting. Sometimes you need to be fearless and try out something new. However, I have to admit that the interior reminds me of the Covenant alien ships of the halo series.
Revolte is certainly a fitting name for this overdesigned car.
This car looks as though it was designed by the wraith alien species from stargate atlantis !
LOVE everything about this...I think they are trying to say that the car is fast as *&^%.
It looks pretty typically utopian-concept-car. Something that looks that cool; there's no WAY it's going into production. Never has. Maybe in 50 years.
The interior really catches my eye. Finally someone makes a good effort to fix what really matters, the part people see and enjoy, the interior.
By the way: http://www.baekdal.com/media/content/2009/citroenrevolte17.jpg. You had that image twice.

I really disipise concept cars, because they look cool and properly is a great car, but they always compromise them, i would like to see a company making a concept car and then mass produce it. I dont se the point of concept cars, it's like this:
Car manufacture: "Hey here is a car, beautiful is it not?, oh no you cant buy it but here is a car, model low, thats nothing like it."
Someone please explain me the point if there is any.

The puropose of concept car designing is just a way for the designers to engage in design masturbation : P
Concept designs simply massage the ego of their designers and tempt you with really cool designs , and innovations that rarely make it to the forecourts.

The exterior looks like a Volkswagen Beetle and a Pt Cruiser had a baby and the interior looks like a comic book super villains secret hideout.

They have done it for 40 years but Citroen still lead the automotive world on design and concept platforms. Chapeau!
