The Art of Avatar

I am a big fan of "The Art of..." book. I own every single one from Pixar, and several from many other movie. They are not only a visual experience, but more so gives you insights into what went on in the mind of the artists. So I immediately ordered a copy when I heard that there was a "The Art of Avatar" book.

The Art of Avatar is not the greatest art book I have ever seen. It has more than five times fewer pages than any of my Pixar book, and never really goes in-depth with the really artistic work. There are some really great pages, and some that seem to be made more for marketing purposes, than artistic showcases.

If you are a concept art geek like me, then this is not really worth it. But, it is well worth it for fans of Avatar.
