Rocketship Tours

Have you ever wondered what it would be like, if we had been much more determined to venture out into our solar system? Artist Steve Thomas has with his vintage "Rocketship Tours" poster collection. Anyone up for skiing on Pluto?

"Fly me to the Moon

And let me play among the stars

Let me see what spring is like

On Jupiter and Mars..."

It has come to my attention that Pluto is not a Planet.

These are great - old school and futurist.

to #3: the comment about Pluto not being a planet, neither is the MOON, which is also featured. Pluto is however a major part of the collective consciousness of humanity and will always hold a special place in my heart.

These are absolutely incredible. Thank you for making them.

About Pluto not being a planet.... It WAS a planet when the poster was made.

Who know's... with a new administration in charge of NASA, it may again BE A Planet, Again.

Time heals all wounds...

Pluto is still named Pluto, whether it's considered one of the planets in the solar system or not. It all fits in with nostalgia for a future we never had. It's fine with me.

These are stunning. Are they available for sale?

These are fabulous, each has a feeling of authenticity as well as being a great fun idea. Venus and Pluto are my favourites.

Cool posters. If we could only unite nations then this poster will no longer be just a far fetched artist's imagination.

Pluto was also a Disney character.

I loved the posters!

I managed to get a Radebaugh poster from the US (I'm in the UK). These are of a similar ilk and it would be great if they could be made available as poster sized prints like my Radebaugh.

Be a truffle pig and promote yourself and get them made available. KP

Pluto and the moon aren't planets, no. But where in the post does it say that it's a "planets" tour? It just says "Rocketship Tours". Just enjoy the darn pictures and shut your trap.

There ought to be a little "999" on that "Milky Way Lines" train...

Also, Lockheed Martin blocks access to the Steve Thomas Art website. Apparently the people who build spaceships for a living are not supposed to be looking at pictures of spaceships!

Yes, I realize that Pluto is no longer considered a planet, but I grew up with it being true in countless text books and on many posters of the solar system. I couldn't leave it out of the series.

Onto my next project - whatever that might be.

Pluto is not and never was a planet, pretending it is is pointless sentimentalism.

On the other hand, the art is great and who cares.
