Give me a Dome

There are times when you wish for a place with absolute peace and quiet, and what could be better than having you own private dome in the mountains.

These domes from EcoDomos seems perfect for the job - and you can get them in sizes from a small 7 square meters temporary lodging place (or maybe your private hideout), to huge domes the size of 180 square meters that you could theoretical live in.

There are two versions - one made out of PVC and a steel frame priced at $4,000 to $43,000. And another made out of wood at the cost of $5,000 - $50,000.

Interestingly enough a co-worker of mine uses a dome for her business facilities.

The site doesn't have a whole lot of pictures of the dome, but you get the idea.

They look cool until a hungry bear comes along.

These are great. I love the post and beam work inside, besides looking really strong, it gives a nice warm feeling inside.

It has a real nice tent/cabin mix feel to it.
