Lunar Eclipse

Written by on March 4, 2007

One of my hobbies is to watch the marvels of the universe unfold before our very eyes, like last night where we could see the first of this year's two lunar eclipses.

It is fascinating that you can see the moon being covered and uncovered by the shadow of our planet in a matter of hours.

These pictures were taking with my Sony DSC-P200 camera. Excellent for hobby use, but not so good at taking pictures of moons hanging in the sky 385,000 kilometers (239,000 miles) away. Especially not during an eclipse when the light goes away...

Of course watching a solar eclipse is much more spectacular, even this partial one in 2005.
