Pink Edition
As you might know, I got strange hobby. I design full-cover advertisements to put on cars, buses and even planes. Most of it never makes it out of the computer, but occasionally my designs becomes real.
Last month I made a somewhat simple design for two buses that was used in special promotion.

I have also been playing with designs for airplanes. This has proved to be much harder than creating graphics for cars. An airplane has so many different angles and it extremely wide.

I think seeing flames on the FDNY plane was very disconcerting. It seems like one of those things you never want associated with planes.
Thomas Baekdal - Sep. 15, 2006
Bill, I am sorry you feel that way, but it has no relation to 9/11.
It is essentially "just" a flame-job, a very common thing in the custom car business. I have made several flame designs and it was only natural for me to try the same on the plane. I am fan of Mike Lavallee's very cool flame jobs (and work in general).
I think it looks cool - and it was fun to make. That is all there is too it.

Thomas, I am looking for some design help - Nov. 21, 2006
Hi. I just started a business http://www.WholesaleModulars.com and want to get a new Dodge Sprinter wrapped. The problem I am running into is that I have not seen many designers that have what I am looking for. I stmbled across your site and WOW I loved almost every one. You have a knack for designing more than most of the so called graphic artists. I am afraid to hire a designer that may not achieve what I am looking for. Let me know if you do any freelance work or if there is any reccomendations you may have. Thanks - Mark

Your wraps are AMAZING. I would love to see the 2009 Pontiac Trans Am concept car wrapped with a F-22 Raptor wrap. I think the 2 newest, bad-ass looking machines together complement each other like no other. I don't know if it can be done or not but let me know PLEASE
Thomas Baekdal - May. 12, 2007
BTW: Yes, I know it is not Trans Am, but I couldn't find a good quality image to work with - hence the Camaro took its place.

I loved your designs. Currently I am out of work and trying to do something that I really loved doing since childhood but never got a chance. Getting into Advertising that is.
Just curious, how much does it cost to wrap a car? I know it will depend on size and area coverage, but there must be a rough idea as to how much it would be per squared foot for instance. right?
I am glad i stumbled on your website!

Hi, I'm trying to creat a wrap for a astro van with our food rive campain for the homeless people in the USA, do I ahve to use a picture or shouuld I use vector based images?
If I decide to use a picture, what would be the ideal resolution? 300DPI? and the size of the file, should it be real size or just a scale?
If you could help us would be great.
have a great night.
Thomas Baekdal - Feb. 27, 2008
Alex, Vectors is easier, since they are scalable - but picture will do fine too as long as they are big enough.
What you want to aim for is 100dpi or more at 1x1 scale.

As a designer, I could not disagree more that flames on a plane is not a big deal. It's a huge deal and would create a very unpleasant user experience. Thus bad design.
Paul - Apr. 22, 2008
As a designer...I think the flames are great. Besides it is just a concept. Think about this...Do you know how many people die each year in car crashes, which in lots of cases involve flames. However, how many people have flames on their car or truck??? Thousands. So why make such a big deal. It is cool!
