Kuler is Cool

A have recently played around with Adobe's new online color tool "Kuler", and I am impressed. I think this is going to be my new tool of choice when it comes to mixing colors.

Give it a try »

BTW: The black interface looks cool, but is acutally not very usable. Black makes colors look more powerful and saturated. Instead they should have used a more neutral color (18% gray)

That is certainly useful! Has to be the best one I've seen. Thanks for pointing this out to us, will make things that little bit easier when picking a good colour scheme.

BTW: One thing I am really mising with this is the ability to adjust the dominance of each color (this applies to all color mixing tools).

e.g. in Kuler you can create this:

But it is very unlikely that all the colors has the same level of dominance. In my design I would probably do something like this:

Real world use

There is so much difference in how this looks - eventhough they all use exactly the same color values.

I totally agree on the neutral grey front. It would be functionally better, but perhaps not aesthetically from Adobes POV.
