MacBook Air

Apple has just redefined the phrase "Size Matters" - and it turns out that small is the new big.

The new MacBook Air is a tiny laptop with a 13" widescreen, ultra portable and has a stunning design. It is so small that when the lid is closed it only raises itself 0.76 inches above your desk (1.9 cm). That is smaller than the size of most keyboards.

It is not the fastest computer either. In fact, it is the slowest computer sold by Apple. But if you travel a lot it is close to perfect.

In any case, Apple continues to revolutionize computer design - I only hope that they will soon make a thin version of the MacBook Pro, with a faster CPU, bigger harddisk and 17" inch widescreen display.

Price: $1,799 - $3,098

WOW!

That came as a complete surprise to me: Thanks a lot for posting this, I wouldn't have found out so soon otherwise. You've got the best bits of what's new, as usual!

I love the concept of it being "in the wireless world" without needing anything attached to work, although I'm still miffed as to how they dared leave out the CD/DVD-drive. The substitute is fair enough, if it works as well as it seems to.

It's great for mobility, and it feels pure and simple, like Apple has always aimed at.

I was suprised as well, but this is not the first time Apple has pulled such a stunt. Remember when Apple starting selling computers with no flobby drives?

People called them mad men, but it turned out to be the right decision.

BTW: You can now buy a laptop sleevecase with the same form-factors as the manila envelope - more info here...
