I recently came across the Hang drums, and I am amazed. What incredible smooth sound they make. They are developed by PANArt in Switzerland.

One the best "hang" artist is Manu Delago (as featured in the first video below). You can find more about his work on his website, including several albums.
Here is how it sounds:

BTW: If you are thinking of buying one, then you might find it to be very difficult. They are apparently as exclusive as special edition Ferraris.

They look so cool, quite an appearance playing percussion on these 'hang drums'.

Nice! In my home town in Germany there is a street artist playing a Hang and regularly drawing crowds. She told me she was lucky to have bought one of the first Hangs ever made through a friend of the producers for about 600 Euro -- which seems to have been quite a good deal at the time, considering that a _used_ Hang of the first generation recently went for 7.000 Dollars on Ebay. But they sure are beautiful instruments.
