I am getting 2-3 requests per week from people who want to learn more about how to design graphics on cars. My previous tutorial is ranked the 2nd most popular article of all time and to satisfy this growing demand I have created another tutorial for you.
This time we are going to turn a sketch into something that looks real. This is the way most people present ideas to potential clients.
The duration of the video is a little over 11 minutes, and the interaction has been speeded up to twice the normal speed (hence it really took 22 minutes to draw).

Do you or can you do a narrated version in regular speed? This is by far the best and only tutorial that shows a thorough design layout for vehicle graphics in Photoshop. I'd like to follow along with the video to learn.

Fixed!
Awsome work.. Please make some more videos. A problem here, is that theese files could not be used to make the production files for the car foil, so you would have to do the job all over again in illustrator. It needs to be vector for the printer/cutter to understand what and where it should print/cut.

Dear Mr. Baekdal
It was wonderful to see those designs over and your doing great
When will the next designs appear?

your simply very good. Loved your art

wohttp://wwww. you make it look so simple. i thought it was reaaaally complex but now watching the video.. feels like i can do it too!.
THANK YOU! this is really interesting, and as a designer gives me a chance to expand my bussiness (or at least try it haha)

I would like to know. What setup resolution do you work to design the final design.
I have a car blueprint which is 1:20 ratio. SO wanted to know how to setup the resolution in PS so when we print the design, its all photorealistic resolution.

Feroz, That depends on the printer - but I generally try to recreate the overall graphics as vector files (that can be scaled to any size). If that doesn't work I just use as high-quality image as I can.
Generally speaking a resolution of about 110 dpi in 1:1 scale would look extremely good. I have in many cases used much smaller sized images... e.g. blowing a A4 300 dpi image up to fill a bus (which was what we did on the bus here)

Generally speaking. Contact the people printing your file, and ask them what size/dimensions they would prefer.

Hi, I am amazed with your work but I still cant find the video you are talking about. Anyone can give a hand where to look at?
